Welcome!

Hello, and glomps to all! Welcome to the Good Ship Guidebook. This page serves as a helpful reference for newbies, oldbies, and current sailors alike. Here, you will find the archives of the ship's posts, including memorable quotes, randomness, and more from the many threads we've sailed.

I am Gaia, your guide to the Guide, and official ship archivist. Many thanks to Lav (LavenderIce) for creating this guidebook and letting me adopt it. Comments, questions, and offers of first-born children may be sent to rharchive at yahoo dot com.

The Good Ship operates via Fiction Alley Park, a division of FictionAlley.org, run by the wonderful Heidi and Co. All Harry Potter characters are copyright to J.K. Rowling and her people. Thanks in advance for not shutting us down.

Sailors whose contributions are showcased here are identified either by their FictionAlley screen names or commonly-used nicknames.

Updates

May 26

I added two more threads. Oh, for the glory days of the Good Ship. Though, I guess I'm partly to blame, having all but fallen off the ship myself.

December 27

I added the latest two threads. The Good Ship Guidebook has been added to List-Me.com and updated at Glitter.

November 8

I'm still alive, and I haven't forgotten about this site. I've just been busy. Very, very busy. There are some important things to note:
  1. Our lovely hostess, Ava, has switched hosts and domain names, so the Good Ship Guidebook is now located at http://goodship.scarlet-serpent.net. Please update your links and bookmarks accordingly.
  2. The latest thread has been linked. What happened to the days of the Ten-Hour Thread?
  3. The Good Ship Guidebook is now included on List-Me.com. The updated URL has been submitted to L-M and Glitter.

July 3

I added the latest thread and linked to two directories. The Good Ship is now listed in the popular Glitter directory and is pending addition to List-Me.com.

June 8

Major updates are going live today, including all of the pages in the navigation links, and the most recent thread list. Let me know if you see anything amiss.

June 7

I remembered to link to the Classics page, which was up last month. I also added a Site Meter so I can track the stats.

May 24

I added the Basics page and tweaked layout a bit more. It looks best in Firefox at 1024x768, but it is still okay in IE and/or at 800x600. If you don't have Firefox, you should definitely think about getting it. See Stop IE and Get Firefox for more info on making the switch.

April 21

The Good Ship Guidebook has been moved to a new host, Gillyweed. Many thanks to Ava for her generous hosting offer! The main page will now be located at http://goodship.gillyweed.org.
